Scope and Contents
One linear foot of books, photographs, negatives, slides, articles, correspondence, tourist guides and brochures document George E. Gray and his family while they lived in Vietnam from October 1958 to October 1960 as he worked in highway engineering. Items of note in this collection include correspondence from the Office of Senator Mike Mansfield, 14 August 1959.
Biographical / Historical
George E. Gray was born October 3, 1927 in Fullerton, California. He attended Fullerton Union High School and graduated in June 1946. He then attended Stanford University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in December of 1950. Gray is a veteran of the United States Air Force and lived with his family in Vietnam from October 1958 to October of 1960 while he worked in highway engineering. While in Vietnam he was active in the Vietnamese-American Association.
