Less than one linear foot of books detail Howard Holschuh's service during the Vietnam War. The collection includes Holschuh's book titled 'I Briefed a Thousand Stars: My Twenty-five Years as a Naval Intelligence Officer' which documents Holschuh's carrer in the U.S. Navy and 1966 tour of Vietnam.
Biographical / Historical
Howard Holschuh volunteered for service in the United States Navy in August 1942 and was commissioned as an Ensign in September 1944. He served for one year in South Vietnam in 1966 as an N-2 Commander. Holschuh was promoted to Captain while in Vietnam and received the U.S. Navy Unit Commendation and the Vietnamese Staff Service Honor Medal (First Class). He retired in August 1972 with the rank of Captain.
