Biographical / Historical
Michael Ray Goode was born 7 July 1946 in Vallajo California. Goode volunteered for the US Navy in 1964 and served in the SEABEEs. He served a total of 22 years in the military including three in Southeast Asia from 1967-1969. Goode was assigned to Mobile Construction Battalions 10 and 4. He served with Battalion 10 from 1967-1969 and Battalion 4 from 1973-1976 buliding runways. He was stationed at Quang Tri, Phu Bai, and Hue. Goode was involved in the Tet offensives of 1968 and 1969. He held the ranks of E-3 to E-4 and retired in 1986 at the rank of E-6 CM1.
