Scope and Contents
Less than one linear foot of booklets written in both English and Vietnamese from the Republic of Vietnam document various topics form the war period, from the achievements of the War Cabinet of RVN in 1965 to Vietnamese children entertainment through comic books. All materials date from the war period and are in moderate to good condition.
Biographical / Historical
James K. Bruton was born in New York City in 1944. In 1966, Bruton enlisted in the United States Army Infantry as an officer, beginning over twenty years of service. From 1967 through 1969 Bruton served with Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV) as an Assistant Battalion Advisor, until he was transferred to the 173rd Airborne Brigade, where he served as a Battalion Chief Military Observer. During this same time Bruton was promoted from a First Lieutenant to a Captain and was stationed at Military Region III (MRIII) and Military Region II (MRII).
