Biographical / Historical
James M. Dodds has had over fifty years experience in aircraft maintenance and inspection. Dodds began his career in the USAF where he served from 1953-1957, on Active Duty, and was later Honorably Discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1960. While in the Air Force, Dodds served as Crew Chief on B-47 aircraft, responsible for the operational readiness of assigned aircraft. From April to October 1967, he was contracted to Dynalectron Corp. as a Quality Control Technical Representative, assigned to the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry in Vietnam, responsible for inspection and damage repairs on military helicopters. From November 1967-January 1974, he was employed by Air American Inc. and worked in various supervisory roles in inspection of aircraft and performing damage repairs. In the years since Vietnam, Dodds has continued to work as an aircraft mechanic and inspector and has earned several certifications, licences, and awards in his field.
