A copy of the February 1971 issue of the 4th Battalion, 21st Infantry's publication The Gimlet; an in-country processing manual for the 381st Replacement Company, 90th Replacement Battalion; and other ephemeral material collected by Edwin Lausell during his service in Vietnam with Americal Division.
Biographical / Historical
Edwin Lausell was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico in 1947. He was a member of ROTC in 1969 and served in the US Army for 2 years and 3 months. Mr. Lausell served in D Compnay, 4th Battalion, 21st Infantry Americal Division as an Infantry Platoon Leader. He was stationed at My Trang and Duc Pho. Edwin Lausell held the ranks of 2nd Lt. and 1st Lt. and retired at the rank of Captian in 1971. Mr. Lausell was wounded by a booby trap in April 1970 and was awarded the Bronze Star, The Purple Heart, and the VSM Combat Infantry Badge. He recieved a Masters Degree in Social Work after his Military Service.
