Peniche's service in the United States Army during World War II and then as a translator with MAAG Headquarters in Saigon from 1959 until July 1962. .
Biographical / Historical
Eduardo A. Peniche was born in Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico, and moved to the United States in 1942. He was 18 years old when he served with the 101st Airborne Division on D-Day during World War II. Peniche was assigned to Vietnam in 1959 after he learned Vietnamese at the US Army Language School. His first assignment was to MAAG Headquarters in Saigon where he was a translator. He served in Vietnam from 1959 until July 1962.
