Less than one linear foot of unit histories of the 10th Combat Aviation Battalion from 1965-1967 and a report written by L. R. Rosengrant concerning the impact of Ben L. Harrison's personality on the training of the 10th Combat Aviation Battalion while he was commander of the battalion in the mid-1960s.

Biographical / Historical

Ben L. Harrison was born in 1928 in Turmann, Arizona. He volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1946 and was in the Infantry division. Harrison served for 33 years two of which were spent in Southeast Asia. He was in the 10th Combat Aviation Batallion from July 1966- July 1967. Then he served in the 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborn, from June 1970 to December 1970. Then from January 1971 to June 1971 he served in the MACV Advisory Detail, 1st Infantry Division ARVN. He was stationed in the I, II, and III Corps during his duties. He held rank of Lieutenant Colornel, and Colonel durning the time. He received two Distinguished Flying Crosses, one Silver Star, and forty Air Medals for his service during the Vietnam War. Harrison retired in 1979 as a Major General. Now he belongs to the Ripcord Association and also the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Associations. After his service in Vietnam he did consulting and leadership/management training.
