Biographical / Historical

Floyd W. Jiminez enlisted in the United States Army in January 1968 after he had served for nine years in the Texas National Guard. He was then assigned to the 68th Assault Helicopter Company at Bien Hoa Air Base in Vietnam after he completed flight school. While he served in Vietnam, he earned the Bronze Star and the Air Medal with V device. Jiminez left active duty in 1977 and joined the Army Reserves, from which he retired in 1981.
