Scope and Contents
Book titled Spring Visits: Photographs from Viet Nam consists of photographs taken by Don Unrau during his trips to Vietnam, 1992-2005.
Biographical / Historical
Don Unrau was born in 1950 in Wolfpoint, Montana. He was drafted and then later volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1970. Unrau did a total of three years active duty service with seven months in Vietnam. He was combat medic assigned to the 1 Battalion 327 Infantry, 101st Airborne Division in Phu Bai. Unrau participated in Operation Jefferson Glen. During his service he received the Combat Medics Badge and the Purple Heart for wounds sustained in combat. He was discharged in 1973 at the grade of E-5. After his service in the Army he went to art school.
