Approximately one linear foot of slides and two pair of combat boots document Robert B. Wilcox's service in the United States Navy as a surgeon, 1967-1970.
Biographical / Historical
Dr. Robert B. Wilcox was born in Bryan, Texas in 1940. He volunteered for the United States Navy Reserves in 1967. Dr. Wilcox did four years active duty service as a flight surgeon with one year of service in Southeast Asia. He was assigned to the Marine Aircraft Group 13 from September 1968 to July 1969 while stationed in Shulai. During his service in Vietnam, Dr. Wilcox received many awards and citations including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Fleet Marine Combat Operation Insignia with Bronze Star, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He received an honorable discharge in 1991 at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Dr. Wilcox still practices as a Medical Doctor of Urology.
