Edward Kraft was born in 1936 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He entered into the United States Air Force ROTC in 1958. Kraft served 25 years and 8 months with 1 year of services in Southeast Asia. He was assigned to the 12th Air Command Squadron from August 1967 to December 1967 and HQ 7th Air Force Herbicide Plans from December 1967 to August 1968 while in Vietnam. Kraft held the positions of Combat Qualified Navigator and Herbicide Plans Officer. He was stationed Bien Hoa Air Base and Tan Son Nhut Air Base during his service in Vietnam. Kraft held the rank of Captain during his tour in Vietnam. He was involved in four campaigns including the Tet Offensive. Kraft received one bronze star, three Air Medals, Vietnam Service Medal, and Vietnam Gallantry Medal for his actions in Vietnam. He retired from the USAF on September 1, 1984 at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Kraft currently is a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.- 2
