Michael Ingham was born in Waterville, Maine and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1966. He was a Marine Corps infantry officer from June 1966 to September 1969. In June 1970 he joined the CIA as a paramilitary case officer and served as an adviser to Thai volunteer troops at Long Tieng from January 1971 to April 1973. Ingham was a province officer for Pursat Province in Cambodia from October 1974 to March 1975. Later in 1975 he resigned from the CIA.- 23
