Scope and Contents
The collection consists of approximately three linear feet of materials documenting Earl Lewis' family life prior to serving in Vietnam, his training at Fort Wolters and Fort Rucker, and his service as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam with the 155th Assault Helicopter Company, 189th Assault Helicopter Company, and 120th Assault Helicopter Company from 1967-1969. The materials include photographs, audio reel tapes, and slides. The audio records include an oral history recording where Earl Lewis talks about what it was like to be a helicopter pilot in Vietnam and a recording of members of the 173rd Assault Helicopter Company singing folk songs.

Earl Lewis served as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam from 1967-1969 with the 155th, 189th, and 120th Assault Helicopter Companies.
