Scope and Contents
Booklet titled 'On the Vietnam War - Some Forty Years Later' by Bertil Haggman describes the activities of the Committee for a Free Asia in Scandinavia to support the United States in its defense of the Republic of Vietnam against the Communists during a time when it was more fashionable in Sweden to support the Communist Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The collection also includes clippings, images, and photographs. The materials are dated predominately 1967-1969 and 2014.
Biographical / Historical
Bertil Haggman is one of the founders of the Committee for a Free Asia in Scandinavia, which was based in Sweden and established to support the United States in its defense of the Republic of Vietnam against the Communists and to act as a counterbalance to left-wing, pro-North Vietnamese groups in Sweden.
