Paper copy of a slide presentation Gary Witte made to describe his tour of duty in the Central Highlands of Vietnam with Army Corps of Engineers, September 1969 to June 1970.
Biographical / Historical
Gary Witte was born in Freeport, Illinois in 1942. Witte was commissioned in the Army Reserve, Corps of Engineers in 1968. He served in Vietnam from September 1969 to June 1970. While in Vietnam Witte was assigned to the 20th Engineer Battalion and stationed at Engineer Hill and Weight-Davis, then attached to an advisory team at Cheo Reo for 3 months. He held the position of Platoon Leader and was a staff officer in the 20th EBC. Witte held the ranks of 2nd and 1st Lieutenant while serving in Vietnam. He was discharged from active duty June 1970. After Vietnam Witte returned to College at Georgia Tech and completed a Bachelor of Architecture Degree.
