DVD titled 'Coping with Chronic Neuropathy: Tips and Techniques on Living with Neuropathy' and article by Eugene B. Richardson titled 'One MANS'S Journey with Neuropathy' document the sufferings of Vietnam Veterans from Agent Orange-related Peripheral Neuropathy. The article describes Richardson's own sufferings from Peripheral Neuropathy.

Biographical / Historical

Eugene B. Richardson was born in 1938 at Lewistown, PA. He volunteered for service in the U.S. Navy in 1957, and volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1966, and worked as a Chaplain. Richardson's twenty-seven year service record included one year in Southeast Asia, where he was stationed at the Dong Tam and Cam Tho area of 4 Corps, South Vietnam. He was assigned to the 3rd Surgical Hospital, 9th Infantry Division, from November 1967 through November 1968, where he held the rank of Captain. Richardson was involved in the Tet Offensive, and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He retired from military service in 1987, at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. From 1987 to 1999, Richardson worked as Vice President of Operations for the Presbyterian Retirement Communities. In 1999, he became disabled from exposure to Agent Orange. He currently acts as a volunteer counselor and advocate with The Neuropathy Association Inc., and the founding President of the Neuropathy Support Network, providing support, guidance, and advocacy for Neuropathy patients and Veterans exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam. Richardson is a member of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, Vietnam Veterans and Vietnam Coalition, and the Vietnam Veterans Association.
