Scope and Contents
Less than half a linear foot of military records document Jerry R. Brooks' service in the United States Army, 1960-1977. Also included in the donation is a graduation photograph from Brooks' Aviation Safety Orientation Course in Sandhoffen, Germany, 5 April 1968 and two patches from the 1st Cavalry Division and the 2nd Battalion, 20th Artillery, 1st Cavalry Division.
Biographical / Historical
Jerry R. Brooks served in Vietnam with Alpha Battery, 2nd Battalion, 20th Aerial Rocket Artillery, 1st Air Cavalry Division, An Khe, March 1966-March 1967. He was the , 765th Transportation Battalion, 34th General Support Group in Vung Tau, first as Executive Officer with the 611th Transportation Company, September 1968-February 1969, and then was reassigned to th 330th General Support Unit (Heavy Aircraft Maintenance), February-September 1969.
