Scope and Contents
Scrapbook containing photos of Ca Mau and Saigon taken during Clark Rotroff's service in Vietnam 1970 - 1971. The scrapbook also contains newspaper clippings about base attacks, antiwar demonstrations, drugs, President Nixon, and Cambodia. The collection also contains a copy of the September 20, 1971 Pacific Stars and Stripes.
Biographical / Historical
Born in 1950 in Burbank, California, Clark Rotroff was drafted into the United States Army in 1970. He soon transferred over to the United States Navy and was assigned to the “Seabees”. He served with the 31st Navy Mobile Construction Battalion for four (4) years. He participated in various combat actions and earned multiple medals, ribbons and commendations while being stationed at Bien Hoa, Vietnam. He held the rank of 3rd class Petty Officer before being discharged in 1974. After Vietnam, Clark Rotroff returned to college and earned two degrees in Elementary Education.
