Biographical / Historical

Born in 1933 in North Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania, William Hodgson volunteered for the United States Army in 1955 through the ROTC program and served for twenty-seven (27) years. After training, he was assigned to the US Army Corps of Engineers with the rank of 2nd Lt. He was assigned to the 121st Combat Assault Helicopter Company, then to the 4th AVN BN, 4th Infantry Division stationed at Soc Trang and later at Camp Enari near Pleiku, Vietnam. He saw combat while earning multiple medals, ribbons, and commendations (including the Bronze Star) before retiring in 1982 with the rank of Colonel. After Vietnam, he entered into private business. He is a member of the VVA (Vietnam Veterans of America), the VHPA (Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association), the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars), and multiple other organizations.
