Biographical / Historical
Anton 'Tony' Cistaro was born in Chicago in 1929 and enlisted in the Marines after graduating from high school. After 12 years in the Marines, with some time in Vietnam, he retired and became a security agent in the Washington, D.C. area. He went back to Vietnam with USAID and was appointed a provincial representative in Chau Doc province. While delivering supplies near the end of his tour of duty, a truck Cistaro was traveling in struck a land mine. He survived but with serious injuries: two broken legs and a broken arm.
