Less than one linear foot of documentation details James Stuckey's reception of the Navy Cross citation. This includes correspondence recommending Stuckey for the citation, witness accounts of actions leading to Stuckey's Navy Cross, and a photocopy of the citation itself. Also included is a series of questions and answers about Stuckey's life and war experience used by Paul C. Behning for a class project.

Biographical / Historical

Corporal James L. Stuckey served as a Fire Team Leader with Company C, First Battalion, Ninth Marines, Third Marine Division. He was injured on July 6, 1967 while defending his team from attack by a North Vietnamese force, for which he received the Navy Cross.
