One copy of the book 'Meritorious Service' written by Joseph J. Gorman as a memoir of his time as a U.S. Army advisor in the Mekong Delta from 1967 to 1968.
Biographical / Historical
Born in 1943 in Providence, Rhode Island, Joseph Gorman volunteered for the United States Army in 1965 through the ROTC program and served for three (3) years. After training, he was assigned to the MACV (Military Assistance Command Vietnam) while holding the rank of 1st Lt. and an MOS of Intelligence Analyst. He was stationed both in Saigon and later in An Xuyen Province, Vietnam. He saw combat during the Tet Offensive and earned multiple medals, ribbons, and commendations including the Bronze Star. Joseph Gorman was discharged in 1968 with the rank of Captain. After Vietnam, he entered into private business. He is a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
