Scope and Contents
Two documents recounting incidents from Benard W. McNallen's service in Vietnam as a marine corpsman with the 1st Platoon, India Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division from 1967 through 1968.
Biographical / Historical
Born in 1945 in Bronx, New York, Bernard McNallen volunteered for the United States Marine Corps in 1965 and served for over six (6) years. After training, he was assigned to the USMC Fleet Marine Force with an MOS of Combat Corpsman and the rank of E4. He saw combat in various engagements and earned multiple medals, ribbons, and commendations before being discharged in 1971 with the rank of E5. After Vietnam, Bernard McNallen returned to college and earned a degree in Economics.
