Approximately one and a half linear feet of books, photographs, clippings, periodicals, certificates, correspondence, and a map document James Nelson Tull's career in the Foreign Service including time spent as a Press Officer in Saigon, 1955-1957; a Public Affairs Officer in Vientiane, Laos, 1960-1962; the Head of the United States Information Agency's (USIA) Working Group in Washington, 1962-1965; a Counselor for Public Affairs with the U.S. embassy in Manila, 1965-1967; and working for MACV, 1967-1969.Biographical / Historical
James Nelson Tull was born in Jackson, Mississippi on 13 November 1920. His distinguished career in the Foreign Service included time spent as a Press Officer in Saigon, 1955-1957; a Public Affairs Officer in Vientiane, Laos, 1960-1962; the Head of the United States Information Agency's (USIA) Working Group in Washington, 1962-1965; a Counselor for Public Affairs with the U.S. Embassy in Manila, 1965-1967; and working for MACV, 1967-1969. He retired from the Foreign Service in 1976 and passed away on 23 December 2005.- 3
