Scope and Contents
This collection contains one CD containing the files of the Mighty Ninth website captured in October of 2013. The website was created by Dennis Dauphin who served as the Executive Officer of A Battery, 2nd Battalion, 9th Artillery. The website contains the unit's history, rosters, photographs, maps, and other information about the people who served in the unit while it was in Vietnam.
Biographical / Historical
Born in 1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dennis Dauphin volunteered for the United States Army in 1965 through the ROTC program and served for twenty-eight (28) years. After training, he was assigned to the Replacement Detachment at Camp Alpha, Vietnam. He was a member of the 25th Infantry Division, 3rd Brigade, 9th Field Artillery with an MOS of Artillery Officer. He was stationed in the Central Highlands near the borders of Laos and Cambodia and held the rank of 1st Lt. Dennis Dauphin returned home in 1967.
