Scope and Contents
Less than a quarter of a linear foot of documents and a film donated to the archive by Jack Ofield. The donation contains a DVD copy of the documentary Ofield created titled 'Different Sons', which is about combat veterans participating in an antiwar protest march from Morristown, New Jersey to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania on September 4, 1970. The documents in the collection are press releases and other materials describing the film.
Biographical / Historical
Jack Ofield is an award-winning filmmaker, animator, painter, and TV producer. He has produced and directed hundreds of programs and series for network television in the arts and humanities. He produced 'The Short List,' the showcase for outstanding international short film, for 16 years on cable and public TV throughout North America, concluding its long run in spring 2010. Winner of many awards, his career began at the National Film Board of Canada and progressed to CBD, ABC, CBS, PBS, and Eurovision. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America, a Directing Fellow of the American Film Institute and Emeritus Professor of Film and Filmmaker in Residence at San Diego State University.
