Two books, Young Soldier, Amazing Warriors: Inside One of the Most Highly Decorated Battalions of Vietnam, Robert H. Sholly, 2014. The books describe the 4th Infantry Division in 1966 and 1967.
Biographical / Historical
From the author biography in the book: Robert Sholly spent 35 years in the U.S. Army as a combat infrantyman and Middle East/South Asia specialist. He served two tours in Vietnam, the first of which is described in this book. Command and staff assignments included a five year period with the Defense Intelligence Agency while other special assignments took him to the deserts of the Middle East, the mountains of Afghanistan and the plains and jungles of Africa. After Desert Storm, his last military assignment was with the Center of Military History involved with the writing of the official histories of the U.S. Army. Upon retirement from the military, he worked fifteen years in the corporate world again on special projects supporting military operations around the world to include Iraq and Afghanistan. He now consults on Middle Eastern affairs and write for publication. He and his wife Peggy live in Texas.
