Scope and Contents
One green Army dress uniform coat and pants worn by Warren L. Nelson. The uniform has a 1st Cavalry Division patch, Sergeant rank insignia, and blue infantry cord on the right shoulder. The rest of the uniform has Nelson's name tag, ribbon bar, rifle badge, and combat infantry badge attached.
Biographical / Historical
Born in 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio, Warren Nelson volunteered for the United States Army in 1967 and served for six (6) years. After training, Warren Nelson was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Battalion, D Company in 1968 with an MOS of 11B40 Specialist 4 and Squad Leader Sgt. position. Warren Nelson saw combat action during the Tet Offensive, Khe Sanh, and other major actions, where he earned multiple medals, ribbons and commendations. Warren Nelson was discharged in 1973. After Vietnam, he returned to college and earned a BBA degree and then worked for British Petroleum Co. for 20 years. He is a member of the VFW, Vietnam Veterans of America, and the 1st Cavalry Division Association.
