Biographical / Historical

Pete Ritch was born in 1945 in Brooklyn, New York. He volunteered for the United States Marine Corps in 1967. He served for four years with 13 months spent in Vietnam. While in Vietnam he served with B Company, 3rd Tank Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, and achieved the rank of First Lieutenant. He was stationed in I Corps on the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone). While there he did patrols and sweeps throughout I Corps, from Quang Tri to the DMZ and from Dong Ha to Khe Sanh. He received the Bronze Star with Valor, the Navy Commendation with Valor, and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Valor. He received an honorable discharge in 1970 with the rank of Captain. He belongs to the United State Marine Corps Vietnam Tankers Association. After his service he went into corporate management with Johnson and Johnson, Harris Corporation, and Adtran Incorporated.
