Scope and Contents
Approximately two linear feet of printed emails, correspondence, slides, photographs, newsletters, museum objects, and newspaper clippings relating primarily to the Donut Dollies, but also to women veterans and the women's memorial, POW/MIAs, Agent Orange, Operation Babylift, and PTSD. Given to the archive by Jeanne Christie, who worked as an American Red Cross 'Donut Dolly' and was later involved in advocacy for service-related and womens' issues. Approximately half of this donation is restricted due to privacy.Biographical / Historical
Jeanne Christie served with the American Red Cross as a Donut Dolly 1967-1968. Christie worked in Nha Trang, Da Nang, and in Phan Rang as a unit director and program director. Christie also worked for the USO in Guam during the Vietnam War, and was active in numerous causes following the war, including Agent Orange and veterans and women's issues.- 2
