Biographical / Historical
Born in Chicago, Illinois in 1938, Pat Gray volunteered for the United States Army in 1955 and served over thirty-seven (37) years. After training, he was assigned to the MAAG from 1958 to 1961 and to the VTT MACV from 1963 to 1964, where he held an MOS of Helicopter Pilot of a Gun Ship. Pat Gray was stationed first in Saigon and then later in Vung Tau, Vietnam. He was promoted from the rank of E5 to the rank of CWO4 while earning multiple medals, ribbons and commendations. He retired in 1998 and became a civilian helicopter pilot. He is a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association.
