Biographical / Historical
Born in Philadelphia in 1950, James Jordan volunteered for the United States Marine Corps in 1968 and served for 18 months on active duty. James was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Division, GOLF Company and had an MOS of Radioman and Squad Leader while being stationed at Camp Laver, Vietnam. During his time in Vietnam James held the rank of Lance Corporal and later was promoted to Corporal. James earned multiple medals, ribbons and commendations while participating in over 250 combat actions. He was discharged in 1969 and became a US Postal employee before retiring after 36 years of service. James Jordan is a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Order of the Purple Heart.
