Scope and Contents
The collection consists of approximately 3 linear feet of textual records, artifacts, audiovisual materials, and slides documenting John Taber's service as an aircraft commander with the 4th Battalion, 77th Aerial Rocket Artillery (A and B Battery) in Vietnam from August 1968 to July 1970. It includes pilot’s checklists; materials used by warrant officer candidates during flight school; an immunization certificate; operational and survival manuals; a Hobart College ID; and a DOD shot record showing R&R stamps.

Approximately 2,096 slides including shots from Fort Wolters, Fort Rucker, and Fort Still (1967-1968); footage of soldiers flying the UH-1C and the AH1G Cobra; footage of aircraft shot down or lost to enemy action on the ground; and footage of Taber on leave during Christmas.
