Biographical / Historical

Born in 1949 in Brooklyn, New York, Thomas Gibbons was drafted into the United States Army in 1969 and served for almost two (2) years on active duty. In Southeast Asia and Vietnam he held the rank of Specialist 5 and was assigned to Co. B, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division. His company was stationed at Tay Ninh Province near the Cambodian border. We was the point man for the 1st platoon and was wounded in action and later reassigned. While serving in Vietnam he earned multiple medals, awards and commendations before being discharged in 1971. After the military, Thomas worked for British Airways. He later earned a BA degree, a Masters degree and a CPA degree. Thomas is a member of the VFW.
