Approximately 1 linear foot of textual records and photographs documenting Captain Noel L. (Mike) Hammer's service as a USMC helicopter pilot. Hammer served two tours in Vietnam: 1966-1967 and 1969-1970. The materials date from 1960 to 1970. The materials include pilot's checklists; pilot's logbook; aircraft accident investigators handbook; mission resumes; mission results; memos; orders; squadron bulletins; travel vouchers; correspondence, including telegrams (e.g. officer training; appointment to commissioned rank); list of reasons for disenrollment from officer training program; aviation officer candidate service agreement; travel claims; list of minimum required items of USMC uniform; officer courier designation forms; social rosters; and military pay and allowance claims vouchers.
