The collection consists of three newsletters accumulated by Douglas Roesemann. The materials are dated 2016.
Biographical / Historical
Born in Elyria, Ohio in 1945, Douglas Roessemann volunteered for the United States Army in 1968 and served for four (4) years. Douglas served as an Information Officer with the 1st Brigade, 5th Infantry Division from 1970 to 1971 while being stationed at Quang Tri, Vietnam. During his tour he saw combat action at Lam Son 719 and Operation Dewey Canyon 2 while holding the rank of 1st Lt. Douglas Roesemann earned multiple medals, ribbons and commendations before being discharged in 1971. After Vietnam Douglas entered into a career in publishing and later became an adjunct member of the faculty at the University of Nebraska in Omaha and Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He is a member of Society of the Fifth Division and the Khe Sanh Veterans Association.
