The collection consists of a photograph of Robert H. Jones in his Navy uniform. The photograph is undated.
Biographical / Historical
Robert Jones was born in Eureka, KS in 1948. He was drafted into the U.S. Navy in December 1966. He served as an aircraft mechanic and maintenance worker with Attack Squadron 144. He did three Vietnam cruises: one aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk (EVA 63) and two aboard the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard (EVA 31). He was awarded numerous medals including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal (3 stars), and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was discharged from the Navy on November 12, 1970. Following his service, Jones studied at Wichita State University where he met his wife. He worked with Textron as an aircraft mechanic for 35 years.
