The collection consists of slides documenting Bruce Benson's service as an aircraft fuel system repairman at Cam Ranh Bay AB in Vietnam from January 1966 to January 1967. The materials are dated 1966-1968.
Biographical / Historical
Bruce Benson was born in Somerville, MA in 1942. He volunteered for the U.S. Air Force in 1964 and served for four years. He did a tour of Vietnam from January 1966 to January 1967. He was stationed at Cam Ranh Bay where he served with the 12th Field Maintenance Squadron as an aircraft fuel systems repairman. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant in February 1968. He spent his post-military career working at GE, where he helped develop turbine jet engines.
