Scope and Contents

The collection consists of approximately one linear foot of materials documenting Charles Stuart's service as a medical assistant with 3rd Battalion, 47th Brigade, 9th Infantry Division from April 1968 to April 1969, including his time spent combined with U.S. Navy service members as part of a Mobile Riverine Force in the Mekong Delta. The materials include photographs, slides, and a camera.

Biographical / Historical

Charles "Chuck" Stuart served with the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps in Vietnam. Stuart served with the 3rd Battalion, 47th Infantry Brigade, 9th Infantry Division before becoming 3rd Battalion surgeon's assistant for three months. Stuart then served as assistant to the 9th Division's surgeon, and finished his tour as the 9th Infantry Division's medical battalion executive officer. Stuart served in Vietnam from April 1968 to April 1969.
