Scope and Contents
Less than one linear foot of official U.S. Marine Corps photographs document Bigadier General Edwin H. Simmons' two tour of duty in Vietnam, 1965-1966 and 1970-1971. Photographs are 8x10 prints with captions and date from 1965-1971, as well as 1941 (1 photo) and 1943 (2 photos), and photos of 12 sketches of USMC locations made in 1973 by J. DeMosse.
Biographical / Historical
Brigadier General Edwin H. Simmons served two tours of duty during the Vietnam Conflict. He was attached as a G-3 with II MAF and CO, 9th Marines, 1965-1966. Then from 1970 through 1971, Simmons served as ADC, 1st Marine Division.
