Scope and Contents

The collection consists of approximately 4 linear feet of materials consisting primarily of photocopies of articles on the Vietnam War published by major newspapers and magazines (including indexes of the materials). The materials were collected by Captain Carl Quitmeyer (USN Retired) to write a book about how the press wrote biased stories about the war. Also included are correspondence with Vice Admiral Robert Dunn, other reference materials used for Quitmeyer's book, drafts of Quitmeyer's writings, and articles and other papers on various other topics including the Iran hostage crisis and the Iraq War. The materials are dated predominately 1964-1979 and 1995-2012.
