Scope and Contents

The collection consists of approximately a quarter of a linear foot of materials documenting Russell Bauldry's U.S. Navy 1968-1970 service in Vietnam with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 74 (Seabees). The materials include photographs, photo albums, and artifacts. The materials are dated 1968-1970 or are otherwise undated.

Biographical / Historical

Russell G. Bauldry (7 June 1947 - 13 February 2018) was beorn in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. In 1967 he volunteered with the U.S. Navy. He served multiple tours in Vietnam with Mobile Construction Battalion 74 (MCB-74) based in Chu Lai (1968), Dong Ha (1968-1969) and Quang Tri (1969-1970). During his service he received the Vietnam Service Medal, Expert Rifleman Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon. In 1970, he was discharged from military service and went to college on the GI bill. He was a banker for about 20 years and then became a small business owner. He was a member of the Seabees of NMCB 74 veterans association.
