Scope and Contents

The collection consists of approximately a quarter of a linear foot of materials documenting Lieutenant Colonel Billie Williams' U.S. Army service as Commander of C Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division; staff and students of the U.S. Army Primary Helicopter Center at Fort Wolters, TX; the 1st Cavalry Division, including subordinate units (particularly 3rd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment); and Airmobile warfare in Vietnam. The materials include handbooks; presentations; articles and clippings; correspondence and letters of appreciation; rosters; after action reports; daily staff journals; certificates; photographs; event programs; and flight maneuver guides. The materials are dated 1953-1954, 1960, 1964-1971, 2000, and 2015.
