The collection consists of less than a quarter of a linear foot of materials documenting Patrick Fenderson's U.S. Army service with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division stationed at Camp Evans in Vietnam from February to December 1971. The materials include personal recollections and a company roster.
Biographical / Historical
Patrick A. Fenderson was born in 1951 in Clinton, Indiana. He moved to central Pennsylvania in 1955 and graduated high school in Montoursville, PA in 1970. Following his high school graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army for three years. He volunteered for the infantry and to be sent to Vietnam. He served in country from February to December 1971 with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division stationed at Camp Evans.

After Vietnam, Fenderson went to Pennsylvania State University, where he graduated with a degree in Geosciences in 1979. He moved west and found work in oilfields and construction in Alaska, Kansas, Wyoming, North Dakota, Utah, Nevada, and Washington. In 2000, he received a 100% disability for PTSD and retired to Montoursville, PA.
