Scope and Contents
The collection consists of correspondence written by Private First Class Robert C. Mora to his high school friend Nelda Garcia during his military training at Ft. Bliss, Texas and his deployment to Vietnam between August 1968 and February 1969. Also included are newsclippings from the Corpus Christi Caller detailing his death on February 24, 1969 and the return of his body to the United States.
Biographical / Historical
Private First Class Robert C. Mora was born in Corpus Christi, TX. He served in Vietnam as an infantryman with C Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Wolfhounds). He was KIA on February 24, 1969.
