The collection consists of a manuscript titled The Evolution of the Armed Helicopter and Future Design Requirements by Major Charles O. Griminger and Aaron Rose, including accompanying photographs. The materials are dated 1968.
Biographical / Historical
Lieutenant Colonel Charles O. Griminger was born in 1934 in Northfield, Ohio. He volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1956. He served as a pilot with the 3rd Radio Research Unit (1965-1966) and the 23rd Artillery Group (1969-1970) stationed at Tan Son Nhut Air Base and Phu Loi Base Camp. He received numerous awards including the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Medal. He retired from the U.S. Army in 1976. After his military service, he started an antique clock business. Lt. Colonel Griminger passed away in 2015.
