Douglas Pike Collection: Unit 11 - Monographs (239) Finding Aid

Item Number: 2390000000
 Collection

Scope and Contents

Unit 11, monographs, of the Douglas Pike Collection contains monographs covering a wide range of topics in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and the rest of Southeast Asia. The finding aid for this collection is divided into two sections each organizing the collection in a different way. The first section, documents, lists all of the monographs in order with a corresponding document number, providing the researcher easy access to the collection. An index, at the end of the documents section provides a list of key words and phrases that appear in the documents. The numbers in the index correspond to the document number. The second section, category, divides the collection into six distinctive categories and 55 subjects. The table of contents delineates the various categories. There has been some cross-referencing in the category section of the finding aid depending upon the content of the material. There are 12 linear feet of material in Unit 11 and approximately 1000 monographs. . The original collection also contained periodicals, newsletters and books all of which have been removed and placed in their proper location in the archive. The material is in fair to good condition.
