The collection consists of one copy of Worthwhile Endeavors, Vietnam (1967-1968): A Recollection by Andre LeCault, 1st Lieutenant, U.S. Army (Former) . Also included is an interview conducted with Andre Le Cault LeCault in July 2023 as part of the VNCA Oral History Project.
Biographical / Historical
1st Lieutenant Andre LeCault was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1945. He and his family immigrated to the United States in 1959 and he became a U.S. citizen in 1964. He subsequently volunteered for the U.S. Army in 1966. He was sent to Artillery Officer Candidate School, Ranger, and the Jungle Warfare Schools before arriving in Vietnam in November 1967, where he served as a Fire Direction Officer and Forward Observer. He received a Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Additionally, 1st Lieutenant LeCault became a Military Advisor to Mobile Advisory Team IV-62 in the Delta. He lived and fought with Vietnamese Regional Force 153 for five months near the Cambodian border and was awarded a Combat Infantryman Badge. 1st Lieutenant LeCault married in 1970 and has two children and four grandsons.
