Scope and Contents
The collection consists of materials accumulated by Charles Tarvin at estate sales. The materials include slides believed to have been acquired from the estate of USAF Colonel Henry Green, and moving images and one slide from the estate of U.S. Army Major Noel Gallia. The materials are dated 1967-1968 or are otherwise undated.
Biographical / Historical
Colonel Henry G. Green was born July 24, 1936 in Dothan, Alabama. He died January 20, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas.

Major Noel Gallia was born January 1936 in San Antonio, Texas. He was commissioned into the U.S. Army in 1959. He trained as an artilleryman at Ft. Sill, OK and Ft. Bliss, TX. After assignments at Dachau, Germany (1961-1964) and Ft. Carson, CO (1964-1966), he was deployed to Vietnam in June 1966. While in Vietnam, he worked as a community liaison and a mail officer. He received the Bronze Star when he was shot at by a sniper. Upon returning from Vietnam, he served assignments at Ft. Carson, CO and Camp Drum, NY before separating from active service in March 1969. After separation, Major Gallia continued as an inactive reservist. He worked as a school teacher. He died July 27, 2016.
